About Brody
Brody Stewart is a recording engineer, music producer, and owner/operator of Brody's Place, an independent recording studio in High Park, Toronto. He found production and engineering from the artist's side, developing as a performer and singer-songwriter, before turning that same ear toward the other side of the glass.
He began studying music production independently in 2012, then trained formally at Recording Arts Canada, graduating in 2015. He has continued developing his studio production skillset as a working professional in the years since.
That dual perspective shapes how the studio runs. Every session is approached the way Brody would want his own recordings handled: performance first, technical choices in service of the song rather than the other way around. He remains an active singer-songwriter and performer in the Toronto music scene.
Since opening in January 2024, Brody's Place has worked with acoustic folk, singer-songwriter, and indie artists across tracking, mixing, production, and songwriting collaboration, in a room built specifically for honest, reflection-free listening.
About the studio
Every acoustic panel and ceiling cloud was designed and hand-built to create a reflection-free listening position in a single room that functions as both a control room and live room, with a small booth for added isolation. Running since January 2024, Brody's Place is a small studio with an intentional sound.
The highlights of the collection are very deliberate: a vintage Gibson LG-1, an Epiphone ES-335 through a Fender Princeton Reverb, and a Neumann U87 for the moments that need to be captured exactly once. The rest of the mic locker and gear list were chosen for functionality and practicality.

Mixing
Balanced, honest mixes from a reflection-free listening position, recorded here or elsewhere, translated cleanly everywhere.
Songwriting
Collaborative support shaping a song before it's ever tracked, melody, structure, and lyric, so the recording starts on solid ground.
Portfolio
Rates
Hourly rate of $55/hr, 2-hour minimum. Full-day rate of $350 for 8 hours of studio time.
SINGLE
$850
Basic production for one song with a simple arrangement.
EP
$1,700
Basic production for a simple 4–5 track EP release.
ALBUM
$3,000
Basic production for a simple 8–10 track album release.
More complex productions are subject to higher rates.
Session musicians, when needed, are booked and paid separately by the artist.
